Guy became the full-time Coxswain on July 1st, 2018, becoming the
11th Coxswain of Bembridge.
He rejoined the RNLI in 2009 after serving as a Marine Officer on Pilot Launches for Associate British Ports. As such, he has extensive knowledge of the Solent and the surrounding area.
James is our Deputy Assistant ALB/ILB Coxswain Assessor and Trainer.
He is a lifelong resident and well known property developer in the area. James has been an active member of our team for over two decades, lending his expertise and experience to our team.
John is our full-time mechanic
with Lifeboats running in his family for four generations. His son is also soon joining us.
Being born and raised in Bembridge, John possesses extensive local knowledge and makes an ideal trainer. He follows the footsteps of his ancestors who were previously Bembridge Coxswains and crew.
Fred has been a member of the crew since he was old enough to join (Over 25 years now!).
He follows a fine tradition of the 1st Coxswain Charles Searle and his grandfather Fred Wills was a full-time mechanic at the Station.
Fred is a qualified ILB Helmsman and trainee Coxswain.
Justin is a local property developer and also serves as one of our assistant mechanics.
Steve is our assistant mechanic and a former educator. Despite lacking prior experience at sea, he joined Bembridge RNLI and rapidly established himself as a highly esteemed member of the crew.
Richard is an assistant mechanic and works for GKN. He is also one of our assistance mechanics.
Dawn is our first female ILB helmsman and ALB crew member.
As well as being a well-respected team member, she is also a professional sports masseuse and soft tissue therapist during the day.
Martin, a former police officer, currently works as an ambulance technician and motorcycle instructor.
He plays an essential role within the ALB crew as a navigator and trainer.
Ken who is now retired has been with us for over 12 years and is a very experienced ALB crew member.

Andy ALB crew member is no stranger to the seas having been sailing the island most of his life. An electrical engineer by day.
Jason, an experienced navigator and former Royal Naval Officer, works as a financial controller by day and has been part of the crew since 2006. He plays an essential role within the ALB crew as a navigator and trainer.
Steve, a business consultant, relocated to the Island in 2021 with no prior knowledge of boats. Following rigorous training, he integrated smoothly.
He currently serves as the Webmaster and Local Social Media Officer for the station.
Wayne is a nearby property restorer who has resided in the area for two decades. Shortly, his son will join the team.
Ollie is a Senior Data Engineer who splits his time between Bembridge and London, where he also works on the Tower Lifeboat.
Martin Keyworth, son of John Keyworth and a small business owner, was raised around water. Utilising his local knowledge and expertise, he now serves the Bembridge RNLI.
Paul, a senior paramedic at IOW NHS Trust and crew member of the ALB, has provided invaluable professional experience on several occasions.
Alex is a seasoned ILB & ALB crew member with a wealth of experience from working on superyachts. He now channels his expertise into the Bembridge crew. During the day, he works as a carpenter.
Rob, a media arts consultant, relocated to the island over 13 years ago without any prior sea experience.
Duncan is a Bosun at Brading Haven Yacht Club, providing him with extensive knowledge of the surrounding waters. He is a lifelong resident of the island and has been a member of the ALB crew since May 2023.
Craig is our newest team member, working as a building consultant during the day while also pursuing training in ILB & ALB.

Charles, although born here, has spent most of his life in the States. He has recently returned and joined our team, bringing with him a wealth of experience. We are delighted to have him on board.
Marc has served as our Winchman and tractor/tooltrak driver for many years. He is one of our most longstanding volunteers, with 37 years of service and counting.
Rob, an engineer by profession, has dedicated over 15 years to the shore crew. He is a certified Tractor/Tooltrak driver, Winchman, Head Launcher and also coaches the shore crew.
He currently serves as one of our Head Launchers and Winchmen, as well as handling CasCare duties, assisting in the shop, maintaining water safety, and driving tractors and Tooltracks.
Colin is an experienced team member who previously worked as a firefighter.
Bob is a dentist by profession and serves as one of our Head Launchers, winchman and tractor/tooltrak driver.
Guy is a trainee winchman and works as a coastal engineer.
Gareth has served over 20 years with us now! Local Chef and keen darts player.
Steve works in IT during the day and is one of our launchers.
Retired banker and works as a valued Shore Crew.
Andy has been a member of the shore crew for over 13 years. Former Soldier and now works for Southern Vectis as a fitter.
After his distinguished career in the military, he is now Shore Crew.
Mick joined us in February 2023 and works as a DS for the local Police force.
John has been our Station Manager (LOM) since 2017. Prior to this, he held several roles at the station, including boat crew, head launcher, press officer and Deputy Launching Authority (DLA), accumulating over 30 years of service.
Bill owns a Bembridge-based boatyard, Yacht Builders & Marine Engineers, and has been a dedicated member of the Shore Crew for over 15 years.
Martyn is an avid dinghy sailor and yachtsman who has worked as a Launch Authority since 2016. He is a member, past Commodore, and past Trustee of Brading Haven Yacht Club.
Ron Elliott is a retired IT executive with a deep-rooted passion for sailing and boating, he was eager to volunteer and give back to the RNLI, which he has watched throughout his life.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel RM, who served from 1965 to 1996, was the Club Secretary for Bembridge SC from 1996 to 2012 and the Sailing Secretary from January 2012 to 2013. He also held the positions of DLA in 2003 and LOM from 2011 to 2017.
Furthermore, he is an RYA Powerboat Trainer.

Robin became the Local Management Group (LMG)
Chairman for Bembridge Station in 2010. The LMG's purpose is to aid in coordinating the RNLI's local endeavours, operations, fundraising, and broader life-saving initiatives with the local community.
Additionally, Robin is an enthusiastic sailor in the Bembridge keelboat classes.
Elected as Guild Vice-Chairman in 2005, then assumed the position of Chairman in 2007.
In addition, volunteers both in the shop and boathouse and presents RNLI talks.
Guild Secretary and Volunteer at the boathouse and
shop, as well as an Education Volunteer delivering water safety messages to people of all ages.
Tim, an experienced financial controller and former bank manager, now conducts all financial checks, including quarterly balance sheets.
Deborah collaborates with the Visits team and Ops to ensure daily coverage in the offshore boathouse while also overseeing arrangements for water safety and general interest group visits. She volunteers in the shop and assists in coordinating the Water Safety content during crucial occasions such as our Open Day displays and at the village Street Fair.
Di has been our shop manager since 2014. During this time, the shops have exceeded 500K. Furthermore, Di collaborates with the Station Visits team and provides water safety to various groups.
Alan is a seasoned Water Safety specialist in our area. He diligently imparts knowledge to individuals of all ages, aiding in their safety when navigating the waters of the Island.

Our shops are run by volunteers and all profits go towards saving lives at sea. Our shop relies on the dedication of our fantastic volunteers.
The Guild carries out various fundraising activities, looks after the station shop, provides "visitor" cover for the Offshore Boathouse and guides for the numerous school and youth group visits each year.
Check out our team and think if you'd like to be a part of it. Full training is given. Lots of positions available. You don't need to go to the sea if you don't want to.
