RNLB 'Alfred Albert Williams' (Tamar All-Weather Lifeboat 16-17) was launched at around 10:00 this morning at the request of UK Coastguard to carry out a medivac from a 94m Spanish dredger ‘Costa la Luz’, anchored about 1/2 mile NE of the station.
A crew member had suffered a suspected stroke and needed to be transferred to hospital. The transfer of the casualty, who didn’t speak any English, was very quick as he was able to walk and he was taken to the Camber in Portsmouth where they were met with by an ambulance.
The 'Alfred Albert Williams' then returned to Bembridge and was recovered by 11:15. It was new crew member, Steve Jones’ first shout.
