The “Slow Sun” was soon on-scene and spotted two divers, the “Valiant” having arrived launched its RIB and picked up seven, we picked up the two close by the "Slow Sun"  and the RIB came alongside and transferred their divers across.Once all divers were acocounted for we made our way to the “Wight Diver’s” position and once secured alongside transferred across our mechanic to assess the fault and the divers with all their gear, the other three were brought across by the RIB and transferred across.

It was established that the morse cable to the gear shift had snapped, but drive was possible so the engine was started ahead gear was selected manually and having recovered our mechanic we escorted the casualty into Langstone Harbour where once inside the casualties engine was stopped and brought up alongside the lifeboat, secured and manoeuvred into its berth.
